水谷概况

Introduction


World Water Valley (WWV) originated from Hohai University, and was born in the valley between General Mountain and Niushou Mountain. World Water Valley takes "water" as the core element, and fully synergizes multiple entities and elements, including “politics, industries, universities, research institutions, finance institutions and media institutions”. With the development patterns of "think-tank, forum, book yard, creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship", WWV is devoted to creating global water creativity and innovation center.

World Water Valley Institute (WWVI) of Hohai University was jointly established by Hohai University and multiple famous institutions at the end of 2016. With the principle of “the highest goodness is like water”, WWVI positions as a high-end think-tank with water feature. The Institute implements the dean’s responsibility institution under the leadership of the board of directors, the current dean is ZHANG Yang, the founder of the World Water Valley and professor of Hohai University.

WWVI takes “academic research, government brainpower, social services” as the target, devotes to studying the problems of water safety, water resource allocation, water environment management, water ecology development and other relative issues of social and economic development. WWVI provides intellectual supports for governments, enterprises and publics.

In recent years, WWVI submitted several policy proposals such as “A strategic advice on the China - Mongolia - Russia economic belt and the North-to-South Water Diversion Project from Lake Baikal”, which were adopted by the central and local governments. WWVI has already undertaken three province-level research platform and nearly one hundred scientific research projects, including national social science fund major projects of China, National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), and other national or ministry-level research projects. In the domain of water economic management, WWVI has a remarkable influence in China. Since its founding in 2009, WWVI has cooperated with many institutes and organizations, and has formed a headquarters (World Water Valley Nanjing Headquarter), two annual international forums -- the “Overseas China” Forum and the “World Water Valley” Forum held each year, three major research fields (Water ecological civilization construction, collaborative innovation and entrepreneurship, enterprise internationalization and "Belt and Road" initiatives), multiple global collaborative branches located in Vientiane (Laos), Aba (China), Vancouver (Canada), Gold Coast (Australia), Sihanoukville (Cambodia). WWVI has also established partnership network with International Federation of Scholarly Associations of Management (IFSAM), the International Federation of East Asian Management Associations (IFEAMA), Columbia Water Center, Business School of University of Alabama in Huntsville, Graduate School of Business of Assumption University, National University of Laos, Savannakhet University, Laos college of central Banks, the Agricultural Bank of Cambodia, the China Science Research Center of the Pakistan University of Science and Technology and so on.

Taking “Harnessing the water, prospering nation, and benefiting people” as our mission, WWVI will remain true to the original aspiration and keep the mission firmly in mind, explore and solve the water problem forever on the road.
